MSG is salt (sodium) and glutamate. too much free glutamic acid is a problem. adding salt to food to enhance flavor is not the magic this article would have us believe.
"Glutamic acid is a nonessential amino acid. It can be produced in your body from other amino acids, so you do not need to get it from foods in order to be healthy. Glutamates are salts of glutamic acid."
they deny "adding" manufactured free glutamic acid (MSG) to any of their food, which should be a red flag.
